THE WATCHMAN

Praying at the Wailing Wall

The Old Testament scriptures described the picture of a watchman stationed on the walls of the city and on the watchtower. (Isaiah 62:6a & 2 Kings 9:17). They are patrolling the city ( Song of Solomon 3:3a) & the hills or countryside (Jeremiah 3:16).

Their primary function was to keep an eye for the approaching danger and to alert the city with the blowing of trumpets.

In the Old Testament, the watchman is a physical “job.” They were the guardians and caretakers of the city. Their “physical job” has a “spiritual implications” to the “spiritual watchman” today.

To watch means to keep vigil (watching carefully, cautiously, attentively, vividly).

In the book of Matthew in the parable of the 10 virgins, the Lord Jesus Christ described a watchman that is “on the alert mode.”
Matt. 25:6  And at the midnight a cry was heard: Behold, the bridegroom is coming, go out to meet him! (NKJV)

He who cried is a picture of a watchman, wide-awake at midnight, watching and alerting everyone that the Lord is coming.

At present, God has been anointing watchmen and gives them the divine enablement to:

  1. To see. The watchman perceives God’s plan and purposes. Divine enablement to receive from God and understand His plan and purposes for his family, church, & nations presently and in the future.
  2. To hear. The watchman participate in God’s plan and purposes.Divine enablement to receive and hear instructions from God of what to do and how to partner with Him in accomplishing God’s purposes on earth.
  3. To feel the present spiritual climate on the areas assigned by God to the watchman. Divine enablement to battle through powerful intercession the fulfillment of God’s plan and purposes.

The watchman has God’s anointing of discerning satan’s strategies to hinder and attack and wage effective warfare in order to stop it.

The choice to be a watchman is of God alone. He chooses whom to anoint and gives the “divine ability” to do the responsibility of being a watchman. The watchman has different functions and different places of assignment.

FUNCTIONS OF A WATCHMAN

  • The watchman guards the harvest field.

The devil who rules this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe. They cannot see the light of the Good News—the Good News about the glory of Christ, who is exactly like God” 2 Corinthians 4:4  (NCV)

It is the responsibility of a watchman to discern the strongholds & principalities that deceives blinds and imprisoned people away from God. This could include research about the history of the places and people. He will then inform his leaders and the warrior intercessors about what God has revealed about the harvest field.

  • The watchman guards the sheep/Body of Christ.

The watchman is observant of what is happening to the Body of Christ. Are there patterns or trends that are simultaneously happening to the brethren, like sicknesses, death, loss of finances, accidents, or anything that the watchman could feel or notice like it is an attack to the Body of Christ?

The watchman then asks God for revelations, and then informed the leaders of the Body of Christ or the pastor of a church for spiritual warfare.

  • The watchman guards the Church.

The watchman is always on the look-out for wolves to bring strife and divisions among the church (Acts 20:29) and false teachers and false doctrines (Matt. 7:15, 2 Peter 2:1-2).

  • The watchman guards the Pastor/Leaders of the Body of Christ.

The pastor being the gatekeeper and head of the church are always on the target list of the enemy. The pastors and other leaders of the Body of the Christ needs watchmen to spiritually guard and warn them of incoming attacks & dangers from the enemy.

It is the watchman’s responsibility to intercept the dangers coming on the pastor’s/leader’s way.

  • The watchman guards the City.

The city can be the watchman’s homes, neighborhoods, cities, provinces or even nations. He always on the alert for what is happening around him or even to the nations of the world, that God is assigning him to watch.

  • The watchman is a keeper.

The watchman takes care of the “field or areas” assigned by God to him. He should keep the enemy out of his area of responsibility.

__    __   __   __   __   __   __   __   __   __   __   __   __   __   __   __   __   __   __   __   __   __   __

The areas of assignment and functions may be different to every watchman. However, there are two common functions of a watchman: to Guard and Pray.

I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent,…  Isaiah 62:6 (NKJV)

Human, I now make you a watchman for Israel. Anytime you hear a word from my mouth, warn them for Me. Ezekiel 3:17 (NCV)

Doing both to guard and pray is very crucial for a watchman. He needs a sharp gift of discernment in order to receive revelations and warnings of God upon the watchman’s specific place of assignment. A watchman should always remember this: He listens only to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Spending time alone with God and the study of God’s Word can this be accomplish by a watchman.

The watchman’s first priority is to know God, His ways, His Word and promises, His character and purposes. It is vital to know the enemy and his tactics but it should come only secondary to knowing and worshipping God. The function and responsibility of the watchman is spiritual in nature.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests…”
Ephesians 6:18 (NIV)

This is the strategic position of a watchman. Worship and prayer helps purify the vision of the watchman.

Worship is the ascending steps of the watchman to the Throne of God. This is where the watchman can clearly hear from God and sees what God is showing him.

When the watchman is in his spiritual position, he can clearly see what is happening in the church & the Body of Christ, the cities & nations, and will be able to receive from God what is the spiritual atmosphere in the heavens and in the earth.

The Watchman’s spirit is a spirit of watchfulness and restlessness.

Watchmen on the Walls

Jerusalem, I have put guards on the walls to watch, They must not be silent, day or night. You people, remind the LORD of your needs in prayer should never be quiet. You should not stop praying to Him until he builds up Jerusalem and makes it a city all people will praise.  Isaiah 62:6-7 (NCV)

What makes the watchman restless?

It is the fact that the he knows what God wants to do at the present time, he understands the urgency of times that the watchman is always on the emergency mode and refuses to be silent for God’s will to be done on earth.

Today’s watchtower and walls of the watchman are his prayer closet. A regular time of being alone with God, worshipping in Spirit and in Truth.

I will stand like a guard to watch and place myself at the tower
I will wait to see what he will say to me;
I will wait to learn how God will answer my complaint.
Habakkuk 2:1  (NCV)

The watchman will ascend to God’s throne in worship and strategically place himself in God’s plan and descend in war effectively battle in powerful intercession and partnering with God to work for the fulfillment of God’s purposes.

The prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16

Malacañang declared August 30 as Non-Working Holiday! Yahoo!

It's Holiday!

By Thea Alberto, Yahoo! Southeast Asia

The Palace has declared August 30 a non-working holiday.

“August 30 is a holiday. It falls on a Monday, it’s not going to be moved,” said Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda.

National Heroes Day, celebrated yearly every last Monday of August, falls on August 30.

For regular holidays, employees who report to work receive 200 percent basic wage for the first eight hours, plus an additional 30 percent of the per-hour rate for the succeeding hours counted as overtime.

For special non-working holidays, employees get 130 percent of the daily rate for the first eight hours with additional 30 percent hourly rate for overtime.

President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III drew flak this week for not declaring August 23 a holiday despite the Holiday Economics Law implemented by his predecessor, now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Arroyo observed holiday economics through Republic Act 9492, which sought to drive domestic tourism.

Under the said law, when a holiday falls on a Wednesday, it will be observed on Monday of the same week. But if the holiday falls on a weekend, it will be observed the following Monday.

Comelec destroying flash card ‘evidence’

By Marie A. Surbano

05/15/2010

Testing of PCOS machines

What should be part of the body of evidence in an audit, such as Smartmatic’s faulty compact flash cards, has now been tampered with by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) through its destruction of these flash cards.

The Center for People Empowerment in Governance (CenPEG) yesterday called on the Comelec to stop destroying the controversial compact flash (CF) cards that malfunctioned during the May 3 final testing and sealing (FTS) procedure done in many voting areas in the country.

Speaking through IT consultant Lito Averia, CenPEG said “the destruction of the remaining CF cards should be stopped and a review of their contents be done by an independent group of experts to determine the cause of the May 3 FTS errors.”

The destruction of the CF cards was revealed by Comelec spokesman James Jimenez in a TV phoned-in interview last May 13.

It was at about the same time that presidential candidates have bared the many instances of probable electronic fraud that may have been committed during the May 10 polls.

Jimenez was quoted as saying that the Comelec fears the CF cards might fall into the wrong hands, a reason found inexcusable by various groups.

Following the May 3 failed FTS exercises, the Comelec issued a recall of all CF cards for reconfiguration. But there followed reports that election results were transmitted from some de-commissioned CF cards on election day or thereafter.

Bobby Tuazon, CenPEG director for policy studies, said “Comelec just doesn’t have the right to destroy valuable items (CFCs) needed for auditing and examination of the poll automation conduct by their representatives, independent poll watch dogs, and other advocacy groups.”

The poll body “cannot just tamper with legal procedures and evidence needed to audit the automated election system (AES) and as evidence when election protests are filed.

“The country’s millions of voters have a high stake in the election and want the process to be fair, transparent, and judicious,” Tuazon added.

It will be recalled that two days before the scheduled elections, the SC ordered the Comelec to open for public scrutiny, all the flash cards, as well as the source code and all the contingency plans prepared by Comelec, saying that the poll body must make everything transparent.

This was never done by the Comelec.

Averia, an IT security expert, cautioned the poll body into safeguarding the CF cards to resolve issues. The rules of chain of custody should be issued by the Comelec immediately, he stressed.

“Comelec should now come up with procedural controls to avoid the same errors from recurring should the same AES technology be used for future elections,” said Averia.

CenPEG believes that by destroying the CF cards, Comelec will be demolishing a fundamental body of evidence that will shed light on many anomalies surrounding the flawed AES implemented on May 10.

Sec. 27 of Republic Act 9369 (Amended AES Law) provides for a review and assessment of the AES technology used, but this review will be imperiled by the destruction of the CF cards among other Comelec election paraphernalia, said Averia.

Noting the number of electoral complaints reported, Comelec now has to assure the public there are no programs that are designed to cheat or manipulate the vote counts, stressed Averia.

Preserving the CF cards would also dispel reports that election results generated during the final sealing and testing activities prior to the polls on May 10, 2010 were transmitted following the close of the May 10 polls, instead of the official election reports of the actual polls.

Averia said preserving the CF cards would also resolve claims of many candidates that the election returns generated on May 10 were faulty and spurious.

He also cautioned against implementing Comelec Resolution No. 8914, in which the Comelec en banc ordered the CCS laptops from which the FTS reports were transmitted be brought to Manila for the Comelec to rectify the errors. The said FTS reports are to be deleted.

The deletion of the said FTS reports should be stopped and the CCS laptops be reviewed by an independent group of experts to determine why the FTS reports were retained in the CCS laptop storage.

Preserving the FTS is also a way to assure the public and interested political parties and groups that the FTS reports were indeed not meant to be transmitted.

Prophetic Words for the Philippines: A Recall

Cindy Jacobs Prophecy For The Philippines
700 Club Asia

Cindy Jacobs, Founder of Generals International

Recently, due to many requests, The 700 Club Asia featured the audiotape of Cindy Jacobs’ inspiring prophecy for the Philippines. Special guest was Pastor Jerome Ocampo, head of the Jesus Revolution revival crusade, who was in the United States when the prophecy was given.

The prophecy was delivered unexpectedly and extemporaneously last October 27, 2001. The venue was the “Catch the Fire” conference of Harvest International Ministries in California, U.S.A..
Cindy Jacobs, American founder and head of a worldwide prayer network: Generals of Intercession, author of three bestselling books on prayer, prophecy and spiritual warfare; and widely recognized “prophet to the nations” was an invited speaker.
At one point in the conference, two of a handful of Filipinos there,

Pastor Jerome Ocampo, Founder of Jesus Revolution

Pastor Jerome Ocampo and his wife Annabelle, were called onstage. They were prayed for and asked to receive the financial “love offering” for the day to benefit the “Jesus Revolution” youth revival to be held at the Luneta in Manila the next month. Cindy Jacobs was invited onstage to make the call for support for the revival.

When Cindy came up, she immediately sensed a stirring in her spirit.. “Don’t you feel a sense of destiny on this stage?” remarked the prophetically gifted intercessor who had been to the Philippines once in 1996 for a conference.
“She was shaking,” recalls Jerome as Cindy turned towards them. “It’s as if she couldn’t hold back what she wanted to say. It just exploded, tuluy-tuloy.” In a high, clear, commanding voice, the words gushed out from Cindy in a torrent, without a single pause. Her prophecy was amazingly specific and accurate,” Jerome marveled.. This is what she said:

PROPHECY FOR THE PHILIPPINES

“Jerome, the Lord would say to the Philippines -I am shaking everything that can be shaken so that no man can glory in what I will do. For I have waited for a generation that I could raise up a purity and a holiness in. And I am raising up firebrands!

There is a forerunner anointing coming upon the youth of the Philippines that will prepare the way of the Lord, even into the Middle East. Look and see what I will do in Mindanao. For I am going to visit in a way that you cannot imagine! I am coming to Mindanao, says the Lord, as God and the Lord of Hosts, and I am going to start appearing.

As a sign that I am going to truly change the nation, I am going to show myself to the guerilla leaders. I am going to come, says the Lord, and I am going to begin at the places in the Philippines that have been the bloodiest; the places where the guerillas’ insurrection have been the strongest. And I am going to come with signs and wonders and miracles!

I am getting ready to pour out a miracle anointing upon the Philippines

Pearl of the Orient

such as the earth has never seen! For Indonesia, they had a mighty rushing wind. But in the Philippines they will have the fire from heaven that will begin to fall! And this will be a purging fire! And I will say, I will visit even as if in a day, says God. Do not think that I am not able to come in a day and begin to unravel the iniquities of the nation, says the Lord!

I am going to visit the military. I am getting ready to come among the young in the military. And the Lord says, there’s going to be a revolution of righteousness that comes within the military.

I’m getting ready to dethrone everything that needs to be dethroned, for even the bowls of heaven are full. Oh, I see the bowls in heaven are just getting ready to be tipped over the Philippines and I am going to spill out my glory!

And the Lord says, I will remove the shame that Satan has tried to put upon this nation! And the Lord says, look and see, for even the blood of the martyrs cries out from Saudi Arabia! The blood of the martyrs cries out from those Islamic nations, and my Filipino people that have laid their lives down.

Do not think I haven’t seen it! Do not think I am looking away! Do not think I do not see you! Do not think I do not see you, Philippines; for I see you! You are the apple of my eye! You are a treasure unto me!

This is the day and this is the hour when I begin to change everything, says the Lord! I’m going to change the judicial system. I’m going to dethrone corrupt judges. I’m getting ready to deal with the police force.

I’m going to expose, expose, expose, expose!

And the Lord says, look and see what I will do! For I will open up my treasure chest from the Philippines! And I am going to release finances for the Philippines that will surprise and shake even Hongkong! For I am getting ready to move a distribution of wealth, says God. And I am getting ready to open the oil! I am getting ready to open that which is in the ocean! I’m getting ready to bring forth a revolution even in the economic systems, in the finance systems!

Look to the university in Manila, says God. For I am going to bring a revival that the-Oh my Lord!— the Lord says, not hundreds, but thousands and thousands and thousands are going to get saved!! The Lord says, can I touch a whole university? Yes I can touch a whole university! I can come with my glory and I can come with my power in ways that you cannot imagine!

For I am coming, says God! I am coming and I will remain, says the Lord!

Comelec to release site for posting results late Monday

GMANews.TV – Monday, May 10

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will release the uniform resource locator (URL) of the website where election results will be directly posted on late Monday, a poll body official said.

Comelec Commissioner Gregorio Larrazabal said they decided to “delay” the release of the URL to lessen the possible incidents of hacking. The poll body had earlier said it will release the website address a day before the elections.

Larrazabal clarified, however, that problems with putting up the site were not the reason for the delay.

Smartmatic Asia president Cesar Flores said the website would supposedly be similar to that used by Venezuela in 2008.

Voting officially closes at 6 p.m. on Monday. The poll body said it expects to get about 70 percent of the results later in the day, which are expected to be posted on the website whose address has yet to be disclosed.

On the other hand, Larrazabal asked the public to be patient with the poll body’s main website which has been encountering problems because of the traffic it has been receiving.

The website has an option where voters can search for their specific precincts.

For now, he said that voters can call the Comelec at the following numbers 527-0841, 527-2773, 527-2772, 527-0822, 526-7769, and 526-7770 to inquire about their precincts. — RSJ/LBG, GMANews.TV

Physical Therapy, Ano ba ito?

Gusto ko lang gumawa ng blog entry tungkol sa profession ko in the future as a Physical Therapist. Maraming mga assumptions, mga make-believe

PTs training her to walk using her prosthesis

definition at mga false identifications para sa profession na ito. At sa panahong ito, gusto ko magcompile ng mga different but supportive descriptions about the science para at least nagkakalinawan tayo dito. This also goes out to my professors, colleagues and future students! Hehe.

Haha.

Joke time lang! So according to Wikipedia (some entry deleted for emphasis):

Physical therapy (also physiotherapy) is a health care profession that provides treatment to individuals to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and function throughout life.

Physical therapy is concerned with identifying and maximizing quality of life and movement potential within the spheres of promotion, prevention, treatment/intervention, habilitation and rehabilitation.

This encompasses physical, psychological, emotional, and social well being. It involves the interaction between physical therapist (PT), patients/clients, other health professionals, families, care givers, and communities in a process where movement potential is assessed and goals are agreed upon, using knowledge and skills unique to physical therapists.

Eto naman ang sabi ng careerplanning.about.com:

Physical therapists (PTs) help patients, including accident victims and individuals with disabling conditions such as low-back pain, arthritis, heart disease, fractures, head injuries, and cerebral palsy, by providing services that restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities. They restore, maintain, and promote overall fitness and health.

Ayan, medyo mas madali sigurong intindihin yan, ano?

O ayan, nagkaroon ka na ng brief background about Physical Therapy. Kaya kung ako sa iyo, alisin mo na iyung mga wrong notions mo about the profession. Sige ka, baka kapag nagpa-therapy ka, at sinabihang mong M A S A _ I S T A (alam mo na iyan!) ang therapist, baka i-burn ka with HMP or IRR! Hehe. Joke ulit lang! (HMP: Hot Moist Packs and IRR: Infrared Radiation)

Your PT will analyse your posture for correction

Ngayon naman, paano ka i-tetherapy ng isang PT? Ganito iyon. Ayon din ito sa Wikipedia:

PTs use an individual’s history and physical examination to arrive at a diagnosis and establish a management plan and, when necessary, incorporate the results of laboratory and imaging studies.

Ang ibig sabihin niyan, gagawan ka ng PT mo ng sariling niyang evalution, with relation to the doctor’s diagnosis syempre, kung paano gagawan ng management plan or therapy mismo para sa iyo. O di ba? Special ka sa PT mo! Ganyan kami magmahal! Hehe!

Baka din, napapatanong ka kung ano ang mga career oppurtunities niya? Sa Wikipedia ulit:

Physical therapy has many specialties including cardiopulmonary, geriatrics, neurologic, orthopaedic and pediatrics, to name some of the more common areas. PTs practice in many settings, such as outpatient clinics or offices, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, skilled nursing facilities, extended care facilities, private homes, education and research centers, schools, hospices, industrial workplaces or other occupational environments, fitness centers and sports training facilities.

Senior woman having physical therapy at home

Actually, madami ka pang mapapasukan kung talagang madiskarte ka. Tulad nga ng sinabi ng Ortho/Prosthe professor ko, paraphrasing: “You cannot work alone. You must learn to work in groups.” Hehe!

Sige, may part 2 pa po ito ha. Watch out for more blogs about Physical Therapy! Tama na ang maling impression sa PT!

Hehe! Ituwid ang mali! Sige na po, God bless you more!
